19TH C PROVENCAL FLOUR BOX SOLD

Pretty 19th century walnut flour box carved on the front with flower motifs and a lyre.This small typically Provençal piece of furniture (fariniero or farinière) was used to flour the fish for frying while retaining the unnecessary flour. The fish was placed in the box and shaken with the flour.
